What is a mission trip?

For our mission trips, we choose to get away from the pressures, stresses, and craziness of normal life for a week. We totally unplug and listen to what God has for us. These trips are centered around serving others with repairing/building homes or ministry centers. That said, our heart for each student
on these trips is to have their heart totally transformed
by God and return home a changed person who lives more fully
into their God-given purpose to glorify Him with their whole
lives (Romans 12:1-2).

I'm not sure I can afford this trip but I feel called to go. What do I do?

How old do I have to be to go?
Can my parent come? What about my college aged sibling?

We totally get it. The first thing to do is always pray. Pray for God's provision. Remember that the will of God will not take you where the grace of God cannot keep you. Second, remember that we've got a load of awesome fundraisers planned that are designed to make this trip as affordable as possible for everyone. Third, we have scholarships available based on upon needs and financial donations available.

This trip is open to rising 8th graders through graduated high school seniors. We are also looking for adult leaders passionate about serving alongside students. If this is you, please contact Carter Baldwin prior to registering. As far as college siblings, we'd love to have them come! Please contact Carter Baldwin prior to registering.

Note From Carter

It's my prayer that you'll join us in Chicago for this trip. I went on this exact mission trip as a junior in high school and I can say that it radically changed my life. For the first time, I saw what life on the margins looked like. I was able to spend time with people in Chicago who struggle making ends meet despite living in one of the biggest cities in the country. I remember serving soup at Tony’s soup kitchen where the homeless would come in and have a warm meal. But most of all, I remember seeing Jesus in the eyes on every person I met. Whether or not they considered themselves a follower of Christ, I kept remembering Jesus’ words in Matthew 25.

“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply,
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

This experience radically changed my life because it made me keenly aware of all the advantages and privileges I have at my disposal and that I had the obligation as a Jesus follower to do everything in my power to serve and bless those less fortunate than myself.

It is my joy to lead this trip and my prayer that our students will experience the same life change I did. I hope you’ll join me.

Praying for you. Here for you.
